What is Dermapen?
Dermapen (Microneedling); Dermapen treatment, known as the micro-needling method, increases collagen production by stimulating the mechanisms that allow the skin to repair. In the treatment, small-sized damages are created in the skin with the help of micro needles and the immune system is stimulated. This helps the skin produce more collagen and elastin. The micro-needles used open channels in the skin and contribute to the more effective use of supportive products such as creams, serums and vitamins that you apply to your skin.

Collagen production decreases with age and elasticity is lost. Although it is difficult to prevent these effects, studies are being conducted on various methods to delay them and renew the skin. One of the most commonly used methods is the dermapen application.
In what cases is Dermapen applied and what does it do?
The aim of Dermapen treatment is not only to rejuvenate the skin or remove signs of aging. For example; acne and scars are treated by supporting the skin's collagen production. The skin problems treated with this application are as follows:

Dermapen treatment is a procedure applied to adults over the age of 18. Microneedling is not recommended for people with the following problems.

Scleroderma,
Fungal infection,
Eczema,
Psoriasis,
Immune system suppression,
Pregnancy,
Breast-feeding.
How is Dermapen Performed?
Dermapen application takes 15-20 minutes. If local anesthesia is applied beforehand, the time may be slightly longer. A micro-needling device is used. It should be applied in a safe environment and by experts.
Usually, a numbing cream is applied beforehand. Then the procedure is performed. Tiny needles are inserted into the face with a pen-like tool, and these needles create small holes under the skin. The specialist inserts these needles with equal movements. A soothing serum may be applied after the procedure.
In order to achieve maximum results from the Dermapen treatment, the procedure should be applied in 3-6 sessions, at 2-6 week intervals.
Things to Consider After Dermapen Procedure
It is important to use the recommended creams before and after the procedure without fail for rapid healing. If your skin is problematic, the healing process may be longer.
Redness on the skin after application is normal. It disappears on its own within approximately 24 hours. The skin may be sensitive and tight for a few days.
Make-up should not be applied immediately after the procedure and should be waited for a few days. You should consult your specialist for the ideal period. Since the skin will be sensitive, sunscreen should definitely be used. It is not recommended to go outdoors without using sunscreen.
Products containing chemicals and acidic substances should not be applied to the skin for one week after treatment.
Dermapen application may have a herpes stimulating effect on people who have had herpes on their skin before. For this reason, oral medication can be applied before and after the procedure.
